Did You Know? Red Ribbon WeekNext week we are recognizing Red Ribbon Week - a National Program for Drug Prevention.
Red Ribbon Week was established by Congress in 1988 to commemorate the work of Enrique "Kiki" Camarena, a Drug Enforcement Administration agent, who was murdered in the line of duty and has come to represent the belief that one person CAN make a difference in the fight against drugs. The Red Ribbon campaign promotes this belief and encourages a drug-free lifestyle and involvement in drug prevention efforts. We will be reading announcements about different aspects of the dangers of drug abuse each morning. In addition, we are planning a Spirit week with different anti-drug messages. We will be giving student who are participating papers to enter into a daily and weekly drawing during lunch shifts. The themes for each day are: Monday – SNEAKERS DAY– Wear your favorite sneakers so that we:
“DON’T LET DRUGS SNEAK UP ON YOU”
Tuesday - CRAZY SOCK DAY -Wear your
crazy socks so that we can:
“SOCK IT TO DRUGS”
Wednesday - HAT DAY– Wear
your favorite or wild hat to:
“KEEP A LID ON DRUGS”
Thursday– CRAZY TIE DAY – Wear a wild
or crazy tie so that we can:
“TIE UP DRUGS”
Friday – TEAM SHIRT DAY – Wear your
favorite team shirt so that we can:
“TEAM UP AGAINST DRUGS” High School InformationCheck out the section under the calendar on this page for the most recent information about high schools!!
