Did You Know? Career Day 2011 - A World of OpportunityThe Career Day for this school year will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, from 8:10 A.M. to 11:09 A.M. We are currently looking for participants for this important program. This program is designed to assist our eighth grade students in learning from professionals the duties, responsibilities, educational requirements and training necessary in various career fields. We are looking for a wide variety of careers to be represented from all walks of life.
What is involved?
Participants are given tables that the students visit to conduct an informal interview. Eighth graders typically ask questions such as, “What do you do during a typical day,” or “How much education did you need?” A detailed list of the questions that the students will be asking will be provided to you. The students will be writing a paper about their interviews for class.
How Do I Sign Up? Complete the form below, fax it to Marsteller at 703-393-6358, drop it off, email it (warkla@pwcs.edu) or mail it Attention to Mrs. Wark no later than Friday, November 4, 2011.

Parent/Teacher ConferencesPoint of Hope CampA fun and therapeutic weekend retreat for children, teens, and adults who have recently lost a loved one. This camp helps campers of all ages work through their grief and develop skills to cope with their loss. For more information, see the complete flier in the "Summer Programs" section.
Support for Students for Homes lost to ForeclosureIf your family owned its home and lost it to foreclosure, or if you family was renting and the landlord lost it to forclosure, and you are now living in a temproary situation, your school aged children may qualify for certain rights and protections under the McKinney-Vento Act.
